Introduction
Tucked away down one of the many narrow side streets in Hastings
Old Town, yet only yards from the seafront, Ye Olde Pump House
was, as its name betrays, a former pump house. Built way back
in the late 1400s, the building is crisscrossed with old wooden
beams, both inside and out, and attracts patrons from all
walks of life who soak up the atmosphere. Deep crimson upholstery
contrasts with the dark wood in the pub's bar, whilst downstairs
there is a wine/coffee bar. Food is simple and sensibly priced,
with the emphasis on good quality ingredients.
